Of all the materials at the disposal of designers, marble is perhaps the most misunderstood. Too often it associated with grand structures and classical interiors, but it is equally capable of delicate detail and warmth. This black marble jewellery box will stand out in any bedroom or dressing room.

Its six compartments are lined with suede, and the box is constructed from MDF, which means that even with the luxurious white-veined black marble finish it is surprisingly light. The faux clasp is an inspired touch, a rough circle of pale marble which splits along an irregular line when you lift the lid. A unique piece.
